Virginia McArdle is a multidisciplinary artist, her recent body of work is concerned with the environment and our fragile world.
Her prints, paintings and drawings primarily use texture and mark making ; particularly the abstract marks found in landscapes, on our bodies and in our memory .
This recent series of prints, ‘ Mapping the Black Sea’, ‘Fossil Fuel’ ,‘Rare Earth’ were made between 2025 - 2026 and have not been shown before.
McArdle graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1981 and holds an MA in Graphic Design.
Recent exhibitions include RA summer show 2022 , CICA South Korea 2024, Sainsbury Centre & Shutter Hub 2024,
The Glasgow gallery of photography 2024.
The RWA 2024, 2025 and Bergen University 2026.
Her work has been widely exhibited both domestically and internationally and is mainly held in private collections.
