Tanaka Mazivanhanga is a Zimbabwe-born artist and printmaker based in London, with a background in architecture. Her practice explores the preservation of often overlooked traces of memory in urban and domestic spaces through textures, marks, and fragments. Rooted in diasporic experience, her work asks: How do surfaces and fragments hold and provoke embodied remembrance? It explores the meaning of home as a physical space, its borders, boundaries and geographies. Drawing on Do Ho Suh and Heidi Bucher, she casts and rubs surfaces, incorporating found textures to transform the everyday into sites of identity, migration, and memory, inviting viewers to reconsider their own notions of home.
