Scherry Shi is a London-based multidisciplinary artist working across an expanded field of printmaking, photography, textiles, and installation. Born in China, raised across China, New Zealand, and the UK, Scherry is interested in the idea of diasporas and diasporic identity and belongings from both an individual’s and a collectives’ perspectives. Her practice explores the relationship between place and its inhabitants, addressing themes of home, migration, personal memory, and transitional identity. She works predominantly with tactile materials such as handmade paper, textiles, and plants. She holds an MA in Print from Royal College of Art.
Her works have been exhibited in various public venues and galleries, including London Original Print Fair, Whitechapel Gallery, London NHS hospitals and Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair.
