Rachel Duckhouse’s practice focuses on etching and drawing, inspired by the physical and psychological experience of being in a particular place at a particular time. She draws from the architecture of interior and exterior landscapes, and the patterns and geometries within them. These landscapes are often encountered during artist residencies, which have most recently included the Printmaking Department of the University of Alberta, Canada.
She has also undertaken artist residencies in Cornwall, Paris, the Outer Hebrides and Australia, and has worked on public art commissions including the entrance gates of Edinburgh Printmakers. Her work has been acquired by the British Museum, Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. She lives and works in Glasgow.
