Originally from Belgium, Marie is a painter and printmaker based in South East London. Her work navigates between abstract and figurative often returning to recurring themes of flowers, plant life, mountains, and landscapes. Through her art, she captures experiences with nature and people, translating them into vibrant, playful bursts of colour.
Marie has been printmaking for over 10 years, recently specialising in Monoprinting which includes combining brushwork with screen printing techniques. Her process is intuitive and expressive; she paints freely onto a blank screen, before transferring the image onto paper. She loves mixing new colours, building up layered textures and embracing the unpredictable effects of the ink pressing onto the paper.
