Linxia Li works across sculpture, painting, printmaking, installation, and performance. She explores how intangible experiences such as memory, language, dreams, and imagination become perceptible through the body. Her practice begins with collecting and recording, searching for the traces these experiences leave behind as they pass through everyday life.
Li has adopts hacking as a method, intervening in systems such as hospitals, schools, parking lots, and shopping malls to examine how rules construct identity, order, and authenticity. Through painted clay, plaster reliefs, printmaking and sound, she transforms invisible experiences such as sleep-talking, longing, and memory into material forms. Rather than proving what happened, these traces occupy a space between evidence and imagination, allowing emotional, physical, and psychological presence to persist beyond the original event.
Printmaking continues to shape Li's way of thinking. For her, printmaking is not only a medium but also a method of reproduction, translation, and leaving impressions. Extending this logic into painting and sculpture, she reworks internet imagery, everyday observations, and personal imagination into hybrid forms that blur the boundaries between image and object. Across different media, her works function as preserved traces, recording an ongoing inquiry into how memory and imagination become materially present.
