Edward Richards
£0.00
Edward Richards gives dramatic personae centre stage on his etching plates.
Gathering figures from observation and memory, Edward approaches the zinc or copper plate as a theatrical surface, staging dramas in both known and unknown environments, allowing characters to arrive throughout the multiple acts (‘states’) the etching process accommodates.
In the summer of 2025, Edward carried out an artist residency in Barcelona with La Maldita Estampa studio, where he produced a suite of 115 etchings. Exhibited for the first time, ‘New 115 Barcelona’ introduces a cast of figures from past and present, moving from the labyrinthine Gothic Quarter at midnight to the heat of the day in the surrounding Catalonian hills.
Edward Richards (b. 1992, UK) lives and works in London. He graduated from King’s College London (MA) in 2023 and The University of Bristol in 2015 (BA). He is currently an artist fellow at City & Guilds of London Art School.
Edward’s work has been included in Derby Print Open 2026, Leicester Mini Print International 2026 and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2026.
Collaborative partners include the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol , the Derek Jarman Lab, and Raindance Film Festival.
