Aoife Mary Hogan is a multidisciplinary artist whose work is vividly connected to the sea, sky and rural scenery of her home on the Scottish west coast.
Informed by a childhood immersed in the Scottish landscape, her work is deeply sensitive to shifting qualities of environment and the passage of time.
The series 'Wave Patterns' emerges from long hours spent watching the scintillating surface of the sea. By deliberate misalignment of the etching plates, the print maintains a lively, unstable quality; echoing the restless energy of the tides.
'And the light shifts' and 'Cloud Watching' were both made during her recent residency at Dumfries House. Wandering the rural estate, she became fascinated by the passage of clouds and changing colours of light across the day. 'And the light shifts' endeavours to capture that ephemeral moment as the clouds break and the light pours in.
Hogan graduated from The Glasgow School of Art in 2025. Her work has been exhibited across the UK, including at the Royal Scottish Academy, the Mall Galleries and London's Affordable Art Fair.
Hogan's work is held in several private collections, and her print series 'Wave Patterns' are on permanent display at Harwell Campus in Oxford.
