In my recent work I use painting, drawing and printmaking. I have a printing press in my studio and make linocuts, woodcuts, wood engravings, monoprints and monotypes. I have exhibited internationally, as well as extensively in the UK. and my work is held in private and public collections including the Women’s Art Collection, the University of Edinburgh Art Collection, the National Trust, the libraries of the Royal Horticultural Society and Tate Britain and many more.
I work across multiple art forms, both alone and together with other artists. I sing and have a particular interest in trying to capture something of the joy of music making. My process is itself receptive and musical, a form of dancing with what arises. I collaborate with circumstances and merge my artists skills and sensibility with the immediacy of my embodied experience of the world.
I work from what I see, I hear, I remember, I feel and I imagine. My art is about living things and the relationships between living things. It is about breath, pulse, rhythm, pace and play and it explores the beauty, fragility and uncertainty of our perceptual worlds, often from the fool’s perspective.
