Helen is an artist-printmaker based in south-west Devon working mainly with intaglio, chine-collé and screenprint. As a keen sailor, open-water swimmer, cyclist and walker, she draws inspiration from shifting environmental conditions: geology, tide, wind and weather. Her work is shaped by the beauty of worn, functional and monumental forms, from the geology of Dartmoor and coastal cliffs to the geometry of Brutalist architecture. Through the lengthy process of aquatint and intaglio processes, she builds layers of texture on zinc plates to create form and surface.
Helen‘s prints span a number of themes exploring pattern, geometry and form abstracted from architecture and the landscape. Maps, charts and cartographic marks appear in her recent work as references to navigation and sense of place.
Helen has exhibited widely including at the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair (2024), Royal Academy Summer Exhibition (2025), the Royal West of England Academy (2025), Buckfast Abbey (2025) and Delamore House (2026). She has frequently taken part in the Bovey Tracey Craft Festival and Devon Open Studios.
