Working in the expanded field of contemporary print, Bugler explores themes of dissonance and complexity. Her works, which include sculptures and installations, evoke a sense of fragility and offer space for reflection. Recent pieces based on the Pembrokeshire Coast focus on the materiality of place and its peculiar vitality and affect. Bugler has been AA2A Artist in Resident at University of Lancashire, ArtLab Contemporary Print Studio in 2026. She was awarded The Hawthorn Prize in the Flourish Awards for Excellence in Printmaking in 2024. She has also received The Peter Reddick bursary for Innovation in Relief Printmaking at Spike Print Studio and has won awards at the National Original Print Exhibition and The International Print Biennale among others. Recent Exhibitions include Ymyl Y Tir/Edge of Land at the Royal Cambrian Academy and Alone Together which toured across England and Wales. She spoke at the Print Symposium 2020 on Print and The Expanded Field in Wrexham and at IMPACT 12, International Printmaking Conference in Bristol. Jess is a member of the Royal Cambrian Academy and has work in collections at The Victoria and Albert Museum.
