Gayle Hallowell is a UK-based botanical artist whose practice explores plants, their significance to human life, and their wider importance to the environment. She has recently completed an MA at Falmouth University with a long-standing science background. Working across photography and experimental print processes, her work reflects on the natural world through close observation, material experimentation, and a strong interest in ecological connection.
Her practice is informed by a long-standing engagement with plants, landscapes, and the living systems that sustain them. Through image-making, she aims to encourage viewers to consider the value of plants not only for their visual qualities, but for their essential role in supporting biodiversity, habitats, and environmental balance.
