Mark Tweedie is a printmaker, photographer and astronomer. His interests lie not just in revealing the wonder and inspiration engendered by looking into space but also exploring the philosophical and cultural aspects of star lore and astronomy, and joining together of the often disparate disciplines of art and science. Likewise, he approaches terrestrial subjects with a similar sense of awe and a wish to understand the deep and often beautiful nature of very ordinary things.
He has exhibited for many years both in the UK and abroad. and featured in solo and group shows. His photographic work is held in collections worldwide, including that of the Royal Photographic Society.
His preferred medium is polymer photogravure, a safe, modern take on traditional etching which he has used as a print medium for the last few years.
