Anna Walsh’s work explores human interactions with the natural world.
She is interested in fiction and hearsay as well as that which is factual, and the intersections in between, which are often the most interesting and revealing about us and our interactions with animals. Her work is a combination of drawing, photography and digital processes, culminating in print-based work, including screenprints, digital prints and cyanotypes.
Walsh’s London Horse Map was made to celebrate the Lunar Year of the Horse, 2026. London is a city filled with historical stories and artifacts, and horses are so entwined in human history that the two combined result in a hugely rich tapestry of objects and stories to discover and document.
Walsh graduated from Camberwell College of Arts (UAL) in 2001 with MA in Artists Books, and has exhibited widely since, including with WCPF in 2019 and 2020. She is Co-founder of the artist collective Garudio Studiage and a member of ArtCan. She was shortlisted for the Derwent drawing prize in 2024
Her work is held in many private collections, as well as Tate Gallery Artists Book collection.
