The starting point of this series is of black and white analogue photographs of Great Dixter in its quiet times, which then led into the photogravure monotypes. I like the strength of the black and white image and its ability to focus the eye without being distracted by colour. The photo gravure monotypes are printed on delicate Japanese paper, enhancing the transitory quality of nature through the ethereal- like texture of the almost transparent paper.
some of the prints are pinned out with entomology pins in the manner in which insect specimens are displayed, further enhancing the link to the natural world.
