Recent prints from Greg Beavis have largely focused on the development and finalising of the image before moving onto the printing plate. His photos, paintings and collages provide the original sources for later images. These are then worked into and onto, either physically or digitally to move towards the final outcome. The interiors of churches in Venice have been a continual source of inspiration. Single or multiple photos all using intentional camera movement are layered to replicate the experience of looking at architectural spaces and details that are still so impressive today. At the same time the clarity of the single view is lost but a space for thought and spirituality emerges instead. Other work evolves from his expressive mark making and gestural paintings. Sections are selected, photographed and then refined in post production, with the intention of making a successful print. These are realised using multiple plates each inked in a different colour.
