Photopolymer On Fabriano Paper Edition of 15 Dimensions (WxH): 44 x 51cm
Millie Melvin is an artist, facilitator and current student at the Royal College of Art. Her practice spans photography and printmaking, incorporating experimental methods and processes.
She explores the relationship between portraiture and identity, materiality, and the limits of representation within an image. She makes images that slow down looking and complicate the ways we encounter another person. Through soft focus and fragmentation, she disintegrates the image to interrupt traditional portraiture.
Alongside her studio practice, she delivers creative workshops that teach alterntaive making and collective learning. Millie has exhibited across the UK, and her work has been published internationally.
