Ghaku Okazaki is an artist who lives and works in Stuttgart. After studying Japanese painting at Tama Art University in Tokyo (2011), he continued his studies, graduating with a Diplom in fine art from the University of the Arts in Bremen under Prof. Heike Kati Barath. Following a student exchange in Guelph, Canada (2018), he completed his Meisterschüler Study at the University of the Arts in Bremen in 2020. In his works – mainly painting, sculpture and installations – the artist creates vivid, colourful figures that depict organic hybrid forms consisting of people, animals, plants and creatures of his imagination. In the process, Okazaki’s focus is on the visual portrayal of the variety of creatures, including people with different identities, as a unit and in harmony, where diversity is not destroyed but affirmed. According to Okazaki: My work celebrates the future united world of diversity.
