Clio Lloyd-Jacob grew up in New York and London. She studied at St Martin’s School of Art and The Slade, lived in Paris, then London. She currently lives and works in Cambridge, UK.
Her work connects individual stories with broader contextual issues. It is frequently collaborative, considering questions of power, duration and exchange. Interested in how civilizations shift across generations, her work seeks to communicate subtleties beyond cultural and economic differences.
These works are from a series of prints made during an AA2A residency at Anglia Ruskin University in 2019-2020. Inspired by Russell Hoban's exploration of linguistic and visual symbolism in post apocalyptic Britain (in his novel Riddley Walker), these prints explore links between Christic and Green Man imagery.
Lloyd-Jacob received an ACE project grant in 2022 to create a mural with NHS working in mental health support. She has undertaken two residencies in Pakistan (1989 & 2003) Since 2024, in collaboration with artist Noor Ali Chagani, she was commissioned for the British Ceramics Biennial Award, 2025, and for International Ceramics Art Fair, currently at the Gardiner Museum, Toronto.
