Amarti is a British-Colombian artist whose practice explores the relationship between handcrafted processes and digital technology. Working with unconventional materials such as plasticine and sand, she creates original artworks that are later transformed into art prints through a carefully controlled digital process.
Central to her work is the concept of handcrafted digital art—a dialogue between the tactile qualities of handmade mark-making and the possibilities offered by contemporary technology. Rather than replacing craftsmanship, digital tools allow her to extend and reinterpret the visual language of her original pieces while preserving their handmade character.
Texture plays a fundamental role throughout her practice. By using materials not traditionally associated with fine art, she creates rich visual surfaces that invite closer observation and offer an experience that goes beyond colour and form.
