Shaped by memory, her landscapes are recreated through painted layers of Xuan paper and rhythmic mark-making within the chine-collé process.
In her ongoing series, Warm Lines, Nicola’s collagraph prints draw from memories resurfaced within present surroundings, radiating warmth brought forth from her past. Layered elements reflect her fascination with shimmering reflections, ever-changing skies, and unexpected bursts of colour. Her prints are a joyful, meditative expression of the Scottish landscape and its constant presence in her life, preserving moments, feelings, and places that continue to resonate throughout her work.
Nicola is an elected Professional Artist Member of both the Society of Scottish Artists (SSA) and Visual Arts Scotland (VAS). She has exhibited widely across Scotland, including a solo exhibition at Grampian Hospitals Art Trust and selected group exhibitions at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh.
In recent years, her work has been selected for the Curated Hang at Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair in London and The Director’s Cut. Her studio practice was also featured in Pressing Matters magazine. In 2025, Nicola received Edinburgh Printmakers’ Print Day in May award, which led to a visiting artist residency at their studio earlier this year.
