Specializing in wildlife and landscape painting and printmaking, Andrew is self-taught and has been painting full time since leaving School in 1978. The Malcolm Innes Gallery represented Andrew throughout the 1980s before he branched out with other galleries including the Tryon Gallery and latterly Frost & Reed. He has also held solo shows at the Alpine Club gallery, The Gallery in Cork St. and the Mall Galleries.
Andrew has picked up several awards over the years, including British Birds’ Bird Illustrator of the year.
Trips abroad, as far a field as the Kumaon Himalaya and the Antarctic Peninsula (with the Royal Navy), Ulusaba Game Reserve (in South Africa) and the Atlas Mountains, have provided a wealth of inspiration, while the Scottish Highlands and more especially the Outer Hebrides remain a constant pull and a regular pilgrimage.
Andrew was elected a member of the Society of Wildlife Artists in 1983,
served as Honorary Secretary to the Society and also as a Governor at the Federation of British Artists before he was elected President of the SWLA in 2004, stepping down after a five year term in 2009.
Andrew is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE).
