Foam Board, Inkjet Prints, Pvc Tape And Toy Car Edition of Dimensions (WxH): 100 x 70cm
Raised between Germany and Britain (b.1998), Alma Stritt’s practice is located in the exploration of mundane transition spaces, temporary structures and public ‘in-between’ spaces, such as waiting rooms and bus stops. In her research she explores elusive boundaries between states of image and object, and private and public domain; referring to these transient margins as ‘tidelines.’ ‘Tidelines’ are investigated by photographically documenting debris accumulation at the margins of habitable urban domestic space. All visual enquiries unfold alongside biological and ecological investigations initiated by a Bsc in Environmental Science (2018-2021, Newcastle University), resulting in a forensic/accumulative practice situated between print and sculpture. Temporary, collapsible, improvised and portable image displays reference early uprooting and unsure attachment to national identity. Her work takes on the form of image sculptures, self-published and collaborative image catalogues, books, sticker campaigns and temporary image displays/installations. She has been studying at the Royal College of Art since 2024 (Graduate Diploma 2024, MA PRINT 2025-26).
