Aloe Corry builds fragmented bodies and ghosts.
She works with painting, drawing, text, and printmaking. Her practice is rooted in observation and indirectly documentary: she gathers stories, gestures, and figures from her surroundings to build new narratives and compositions that traverse uncertain borders and time zones. Her eyes are restless, expanding images into overlapping series and repetitions.
Doubled Vision II and III are part of a series of eight unique monotypes with etching. These works explore overlaps and gaps in time and memory. The central figures are in the process of transformation; they refuse to come into full focus. Are these ghosts, or people we know? Are they hiding or revealing new facets of themselves? When does a familiar connection become unfamiliar, and when does something unknown become dear?
Aloe Corry received her MFA from the Northumbria University BxNU Institute in 2019. She exhibits her work in the USA and abroad. She has participated in recent group exhibitions at Green & Stone Gallery (2026), Saltgrass Printmakers (2026), the Brooklyn Print Fair (2026), Fice Gallery (2026), Art Book Fair Basel (2025), and Finch Lane Gallery (2024).
