Mandy Williams works with photography, video and sound. She studied Art History, followed by a graduate diploma in Film. She moved to Vancouver, Canada where she taught adult education courses, exhibited in artist run spaces, and had commercial gallery representation that included 4 solo exhibitions. She returned to London and in 2021 graduated with Distinction from London College of Communication, UAL, in MA Photography.
Since 2016 her projects have focused on English coastal landscapes. Landscapes aren’t passive backdrops; she is interested in using them metaphorically. They have become a place for her to explore themes of solitude and grief, and to reflect on contemporary politics and environmental issues. Her photographic work is exhibited as small-edition prints on either Lambda black and white fibre paper or Canson Baryta Giclee paper.
Her prints have been exhibited in the UK and overseas. She received the London College of Communication Photomonitor award in 2021, the Photofusion SELECT award 2021, and in 2025 she was a Semi-Finalist at the Head On Photo Awards, Australia, a Finalist for ArtEvol at Saatchi Gallery, an Open Call Finalist at the Photo Frome Festival, and was shortlisted for the Woolwich Contemporary Art Fair.
