Kristen Nelson is an American printmaker currently living and working in Italy. She graduated with a degree in Studio Art from Suffolk University in Boston Massachusetts. Her work consists primarily of aquatint etchings that explore the concept of returning home and the feeling of nostalgia which is depicted through the interplay between light and shadow. By illuminating the journey home, Kristen’s artwork represents a desire to find connection amidst distance. Both metaphorical and literal distance between the subject and where they are going. The artwork is a vessel to keep the memories alive. Kristen’s work has been exhibited in both America and Europe including at Haus Print Studio (England), Scuola Internazionale di Grafica (Italy), Zea Mays (USA), Suffolk University (USA), Central St. Martins (England), and others. She has received recognition from Teravarna and Ironbridge Printmaking Competition. Her prints are held in several private collections.
