Katherine Owens’ work is inspired by the everyday, a moment, a feeling. A snapshot in time.
Mixing screen printing techniques with the spontaneity of mono printing, contrasting with the tightness of registration. Using her own photography, inspired by the everyday, a moment, a memory. Layering colour, techniques and texture.
Her recent series of monoprints, Burgit Variations, draw inspiration from the limestone formations in Mallorca where her sister lives. Returning to the same landscape time after time, these prints reflect on their relationship forever evolving, changing. The only constant being the rocks.
Studying Graphic design at Croydon College of Art, Katherine is now shifting her focus from the screen back to printmaking, viewing her work through a refreshed lens.
Her work has been exhibited at the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair and the Festival of Print. In 2026, she was awarded a prize at the Derby Print Open.
