Antony Summers creates diverse, colourful artwork from his engagement with geometric abstraction. His present focus is on producing collections of limited edition prints where experimentation is key, to generate bold, modern intricate compositions, on both paper and canvas, that explore different eclectic themes, including drones and dirigibles, origami, memory and music. Summers had a successful career as a college textile lecturer, whilst still maintaining his own Fine Art Practice producing portraits and landscapes to commission. Since 2017 after a major illness, which left him unable to paint, he turned his creative attention to producing new imagery using digital processes, to make unique Fine Art Prints, examples of which can be seen here for the first time. Summers graduated from Liverpool College of Art, in 1970, with an Honours Degree in Fine Art and was awarded The John Moores Fine Art Scholarship in the same year, to develop his interest in textile design. Summers exhibited paintings twice in the John Player Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery, London, in 1981 and 1983, and at the Mall Galleries, Royal Society of Portrait Painters, in 2005 and 2006. His portraits are in private collections in the UK, China, Canada, France and USA.
