In her current body of work Anne Louise Jackson celebrates our capacity to reconnect with light and joy after periods of darkness, grief and loss. She is drawn to transcendent moments where these polarities are reconciled, utilising contrasting tone and colour to express these extremes.
Intaglio techniques are Anne’s preferred forms of printmaking: she loves working within the established tradition of etching, fascinated by the grain of a scratched line and the textures of cotton or mulberry papers, but equally appreciates the immediacy of photopolymer gravure, the painterly freedom of à la poupée colour and the dreamlike quality of a copper mezzotint.
Anne graduated in 1983 from Glasgow School of Art with a BA Hons in Fine Art (Murals) and in 2008 from Middlesex University with a BA Hons in Fine Art (Video and Print).
She has exhibited widely, highlights include RE, Bankside Gallery’s “Small But Mighty” 2024/5 and forthcoming 2026, the Bainbridge Open 2025 and the itinerant Miniprint Cadaqués 2023/4/5/6. Anne’s work is held in many private collections.
