Elisa Pellizzari (Arzignano, 1994) is an Italian visual artist and printmaker whose practice explores the relationship between gesture, space and movement through the language of the engraved sign.
Working primarily with intaglio techniques, drawing and artist's books, she investigates how signs and gestures can make tangible invisible relationships, translating mental and sensory impressions into abstract visual forms.
The series Andare verso (Moving Towards) explores the encounter between two originally separated elements. Signs move through space as gentle flows seeking one another, suggesting a suspended and unresolved connection. Rather than reaching a definitive union, they evoke the tension of moving closer, revealing a subtle balance where a possible relationship continues to resonate.
Pellizzari graduated in Painting and Printmaking from the Academies of Fine Arts in Verona and Turin, later completing the Master's programme at Il Bisonte in Florence with the M.L. Guaita scholarship. Her practice has been enriched by a residency at the Ratamo Printmaking and Photography Centre in Jyväskylä, Finland, and participation in the XVI Latgale Graphic Art Symposium at the Mark Rothko Art Centre in Daugavpils, Latvia. Her awards include first prize at the National Engraving Competition of Gorlago and third prize at the Fibrenus Prize.
