C-Type Print Edition of 50 Dimensions (WxH): 98 x 132cm
Juanjo Barreda Aznar is a Spanish artist based in Milan whose practice explores print as both image and material. Through photography and print, he investigates how repetition, accumulation and physical layering transform printed images into physical forms that explore systems, stability and perception.
Recent work extends this investigation through the accumulation of printed layers, compressed into dense, stratified surfaces that evoke geological formations while remaining entirely composed of printed matter. Commercial photocopies, reclaimed street posters and canvas are assembled into works that exist between print, object and architecture.
Across different formats, his work explores how meaning emerges through relationships between repeated elements rather than singular images. By extending print beyond its conventional role as a carrier of images, he invites viewers to experience print as a physical and spatial medium.
