Mezzotint Edition of 20 Dimensions (WxH): 25 x 33cm
Hannah K. McMaster is a Chicago-based artist and educator whose practice is grounded in the meditative labor of repetition in her art making as a means to process inmost narratives.
To this end, her current work engages printmaking and photography in the reinterpretation of memory, utilizing a variety of mediums to cyanotype, lithography, photopolymer, and mezzotint. With each iteration, viewers are invited to consider how the characteristics of different printmaking processes enhance or complicate the images being revisited. Her prints question the significance of pursuing photographic clarity across media and challenge how we recall or reconstruct personal histories.
McMaster received her BFA in Print Media and Photography from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2016.
Recent exhibitions include group shows at Evanston Art Center, Chicago Printmakers Collaborative, and Gallery 2052. She has been a resident artist at Chroma Printmaking Residency in Albuquerque, NM (2025) and a guest at Lynchpin Press in Santa Fe, NM (2024).
