Jaco Putker’s photopolymer etchings show visually provocative snapshots of existence that encapsulate the profound, the humorous, and the enigmatic.
Combining modern technology with traditional printing techniques, Putker creates intricate monochromatic prints that blur the lines between reality and imagination. He draws inspiration from everyday life and the workings of the subconscious mind.
Putker’s new series ‘The Terranauts’ show poignant images of a world in crises. It is unclear whether the dystopian images take place at the end of the old, or at the beginning of a new reality.
Putker graduated from The Royal Academy of The Hague in 2000 with a BA in sculpture.
He has exhibited worldwide. Highlights include the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, the Guanlan China International Print Biennial and the Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong.
His work is held in many permanent collections, including China Printmaking Museum, The Hall of Awa Japanese Handmade Paper, Ottawa School of Art and Fondazione Il Bisonte, Florence.
