Keziah Philipps is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice combines drawing, printmaking, woodland management and ceramics to explore relationships between landscape, material and making. Working with found objects, locally gathered natural materials and processes rooted in observation, her work is informed by both traditional craft and contemporary environmental concerns. Her recent practice has expanded beyond printmaking to include coppicing, green woodworking and clay, exploring sustainability and circular material and making economies. Philipps graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) in Illustration & Animation from Kingston University in 2017, receiving a Commendation for Expanded Animation Practice: Printmaking. Following graduation, she was awarded a travel bursary to undertake a year of intensive printmaking study at Grand Valley State University, Michigan. In 2023, she completed The Drawing Year postgraduate programme at the Royal Drawing School, where she received the prestigious Sir Denis Mahon Award. The award included a year-long studio residency and culminated in her solo exhibition, Leafwhelmed, at the Royal Drawing School. Alongside her studio practice, Philipps has developed specialist practical skills. In 2025, she trained in coppicing and greenwood trades, gaining qualifications in chainsaw maintenance, cross-cutting and felling, tree climbing and aerial rescue, and Forestry First Aid.
