Edward Richards (b. 1992, UK) lives and works in London. He is currently an artist fellow at City & Guilds of London Art School. Edward’s work has recently been included in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2026 and is currently on show at the RWA 173rd Annual Open 2026. With a background in acting and studying literature, Edward is interested in figurative storytelling. He works from observation and memory, and he often uses etching as a way of responding to drawings from sketchbooks.  The work exhibited at Imprint, ‘Two Figures in a strong wind’, comes from a larger series of etchings Edward started in the summer of 2025, when he travelled to Barcelona from London by train. Edward spent his time walking around and recording scenes in the labyrinthine city and the surrounding Catalonian landscape. Returning to the studio at the end of each day, Edward approached the etching plate as a theatrical surface, combining observational sketches with memory to produce over 100 etchings.
