Zhané Warren’s prints portray constantly shifting landscapes. Her landscapes function as visual meditations on themes such as desolation, impermanence, and perceptual fragility. They depict a natural world that is neither fully developed nor completely eroded, inhabiting a liminal space that suggests both possibility and loss. This blurs the line between reality and imagination. By withholding clarity, her images invite viewers to face the unknown, mirroring the human condition—lost in a vast, uncertain world, seeking meaning in a vacated landscape. The six prints submitted for Imprint are produced through heliogravure, etching and monotype. They are loosely connected, with each piece blurring the line between reality and illusion. In 2006, Warren received a master’s degree in the Technology of Fine Art from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Warren has staged numerous performances and taken part in many group exhibitions in Belgium, Canada, Scotland, and South Africa. She has also held four solo exhibitions. Her work is included in collections throughout South Africa, Belgium and the USA. She has participated in residencies in the USA and Japan and delivered a paper at the International Printmaking Organisation Alliance (IPOA) in China.
