Szewska’s work is about life, change and temporality as she seeks to show how the manmade and the natural interact in contrasting and dramatic ways within the environment. Inspired by this interplay she is fascinated at the way sunlight and shadows dance around structures, altering the world around her, influencing the shape and colour she sees. Szewska uses these observations to create her work; drawing on colour, sometimes vibrant, sometimes glowing, always different. Through a variety of printmaking processes, Szewska seeks to reflect hope and optimism in her work, exploring the contrast between the new and the old, the manmade and the natural, and how nature can interact with both in contrasting and dramatic ways. Szewska graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2024 with an MA in Printmaking, having been awarded the Vice Chancellor’s scholarship for achievement and is now running her own print studio. This year she held her first solo show. In addition, her work was featured in The Secret Sip Magazine and has been included in several exhibitions; at Bankside Gallery, Royal society of Printmakers, Bell House, Dulwich, Upper Gulbenkian Gallery, Kensington, Linden Hall, Southwark Pk Galleries, Safehouse, Citylit Gallery, and in Festival of Print, with East London Printmakers.
