Intaglio Processes

Intaglio prints are made from a plate in which the image sits below the surface. Ink is held in these recessed lines and transferred to paper under significant pressure. The process allows for fine detail, rich tonal variation, and a depth that feels both precise and atmospheric. The plate mark around the image is often visible, signalling the physical act of printing.
