Eligibility & Selection

Imprint Art Fair brings together a focused group of galleries, publishers and institutions presenting prints and editions within the wider context of contemporary art. Applications are assessed with an emphasis on quality, clarity of vision and curatorial intent.

Eligibility Criteria

Original Prints Only
All works presented must be original prints or editions. This includes works conceived and executed as prints by the artist, where the medium is integral to the work itself. Reproductions of existing artworks (including giclée reproductions of paintings) are not accepted.

Living Artists
All work must be by living artists. Imprint is committed to supporting and presenting contemporary artistic practice, with a focus on artists actively shaping the field today.

Primary and Secondary Market
We accept works from both the primary and secondary markets. However, priority is given to galleries working directly with artists and presenting new or recent work. Applications that demonstrate active engagement with artists’ practices will be considered more strongly.

Curatorial Approach

Imprint places a strong emphasis on curatorial clarity. Booth presentations should be considered, focused and intentional — not simply comprehensive.

We encourage galleries to approach their presentation as a curated exhibition:

  • A clear narrative or dialogue between works

  • Thoughtful selection rather than volume

  • Strong alignment between artists, works and context

Applications that prioritise coherence, rigour and a distinct point of view will be favoured over those that aim to maximise quantity.

Selection Considerations

In reviewing applications, the selection committee will consider:

  • The quality and relevance of the artists presented

  • The strength of the curatorial proposal

  • The relationship between the gallery and the artists

  • How the presentation contributes to the overall balance and standard of the Fair

Imprint seeks to create an environment that reflects the quality and credibility of major international art fairs, while maintaining a clear and accessible framework for engaging with contemporary art through print.
